It is important to note that due to the large number of arrivals and departures in the city, there are three international airports serving the New York City area: John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty. Of these three, only two serve direct flights from London.

John F. Kennedy International Airport is located in the borough of Queens, more or less an hour away from downtown Manhattan. There are taxis outside the arrival area of the airport. Passengers may also choose to hail an Uber or Lyft just as long as it is in the pick-up point of the car park. You may also ride the AirTrain, which stops in the Penn Station in Manhattan.

Newark Liberty International Airport can be found just outside New York City proper in Newark, New Jersey. The airport has its own AirTrain system, which has a stop in Manhattan. There are numerous shuttle bus options in the area and there are also car services at arrivals.
