Atlantic City is one of the cities associated with casinos. This resort city is famous for its beach, casinos and board walk. I recently took a week’s action in this beautiful city. A resort city is never low on accommodation and I was spoiled for choice. I settled for the Golden Nugget. The first thing I noticed from this hotel was the decor. The hotel has a very modern look to it. Word is that it has undergone some upgrades. The furnishings were also top notch. The views from the deck were also stunning. The pool has to be one of the most beautiful pools.
There is a lot to do in this city. The casino scene is something I was planning to try out. The Borgata is one of the most highly regarded casinos. There are numerous table games that one can play. The casino also offers daily poker games. Surprisingly, the casino’s slot machines use a rapid pay ticket system, therefore saving you the hassle of using coins. The casino also has a horse racing parlor. The only limitation here was my wallet.
The Atlantic City Boardwalk is also a famous attraction. This 4 mile stretch is lined with shops, casinos and restaurants. It is a nice way to relax and just take in the stunning surroundings. Many other attractions line the boardwalk; Ripley’s believe it or not Museum is quite a favorite. It features 13 themed galleries with more than 400 exhibits. Steel pier is also a great place especially for kids. It features some amazing rides that are suitable for everyone. The Ferris wheel is quite popular. Other rides include the craze mouse, slingshot and the double decker carousel. For those into history and art, the Atlantic City Historical Museum offers local artifacts and vintage photographs. I also got to play miniature golf at the Atlantic City Miniature Golf located on Mississippi Avenue on the boardwalk.
The Pier shops at One Atlantic ocean houses will also cater for those who are in the City for a great shopping experience. It also has nice cafes. There are also big brands such as Burberry and Gucci. There is also a 3D light and Sound show that takes place every night from 8.30 pm. To fully explore the Board walk you might need some time on your hands.
The whole experience would not be complete without a visit to the beach. I chose to pass an afternoon lying in the sand and enjoying the spectacular views. However, for surfers, Downtown Beach, Delaware Avenue beach and Crystal beach are the best spots. Surfing lessons are also available if you are willing. You may also go Kayaking or Wind surfing on Jackson avenue beach. Additionally, if you are interested in fishing, try your luck at the inlet off the boardwalk or the jetties on Maine Avenue
There is so much to do in Atlantic City that my one week vacation was not enough.
