Surprising Strawberry Shake Recipe

Many people believe that protein shakes can’t be fun and flavorful, when this really isn’t the case at all. If you know what you’re doing and you have the right ingredients at hand, protein shakes can be the perfect way to get an extra dose of nutrition into your diet while still enjoying a delicious beverage.

Some stick to the typical protein powder and water mix, but we know that gets boring after a while, so why not shake it up (quite literally) with treating yourself to something that’s more reminiscent of a dessert than it is a nutrition shake.

Protein is a vital part of everybody’s health, which is why protein powder is such a good addition to your diet as it allows you to make sure that you’re getting enough and that you’re keeping your body adequately fueled. When you consume enough protein, you’re going to feel a lot satisfied for a lot longer as your body remains more energized, and it’s also a great way to stay in shape as it boosts your athletic performance.    Whey

If you get too little protein, you could result in suffering from a protein deficiency, which can cause a range of different health issues. Your nail and hair growth is going to stall, and it can also largely result in a large loss of muscle mass as your body doesn’t have enough energy being supplied to it. That’s why getting in your nutrients is so important – and it’s better to stick with supplements that are trialed and proven to do you a world of good.

Notably, whey protein powder is one of the supplements that’s best absorbed by the body, and we use unflavored Naked Whey which makes it the perfect selection for any protein shake concoction.

Flax seed oil is also an essential addition to this recipe as it’s full of Omega-3 fatty acids which contribute to your general wellbeing and also improve your overall heart health. Omega-3 is another largely important dietary requirement, and getting too little of it can mean that you’re at risk for further health issues. Therefore, this recipe is a great way to make sure you’re getting in all your protein requirements while also getting a dose of healthy fatty acids that’ll keep your body in tip-top shape.

This fun and easy strawberry protein shake recipe combines Greek yogurt, strawberries, and flax seed oil to give your protein powder an extra boost. Not only is it delicious, but it’s chock a block full of wonderful macronutrients and micronutrients which are going to do a wonder of good for your body. What’s better than getting energized and fueling up with a juicy strawberry shake that’s as healthy as it is flavorsome?

Whey and Strawberry ShakeYou’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 2 scoops whey protein powder
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 4 strawberries, frozen
  • 2 tsp flax seed oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Ice (as needed)

Starting with the Greek yogurt, place all of the ingredients into your blender and blend until the mixture is smooth. You can cut up your strawberries beforehand to get a smoother consistency, but that’s entirely your call.

Whey and StrawberriesWhen it comes to adding the ice – take it slow to make sure that you get the texture that’s right for you. Start by adding a few ice blocks, blending until smooth, and then tasting whether to see if it’s thick enough for your liking. If it’s not quite there yet, you can always add more ice and keep experimenting until you’re happy. If you’d like to strengthen the flavor and the thickness, you can also add additional strawberries to give it that extra kick.

Then, pour your smoothie into your choice of bowl or glass, perfect it with your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
